Natasha Caruana

Natasha Caruana is another documentary artist that I just love. Born in 1983 Caruana is a practising artist, lecturer of photography and founding director of the London based studioSTRIKE artists studios. She graduated with an MA in photography at the Royal College of Art in 2008 and is currently a lecturer of photography at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, in Surrey. Caruana’s own art practice is grounded in research, drawing from archives, the internet and personal narratives. Her series ‘The Other Woman’ and ‘Married Man’ document love and its place in everyday life. Caruana’s works have been exhibited in various group and solo exhibitions in the United States, Poland, Germany and Saudi Arabia.
Natasha Caruana’s series of photographs, ‘Married Man’ documents occasions when the artist arranged ‘dates’ through dating websites designed for married men to conduct affairs. She photographed each man, concealing their identity, but also recorded them secretly using a digital recorder hidden in a red purse seen in several of the pictures. Caruana asks why the ‘dates’ are willing to put their legally binding relationships at risk, as well as what an artist’s ethical responsibilities should be. I thought this series was very interesting. The purpose behind it was documenting the things that related all the men together. They all were willing to cheat on their spouses with her and was photographing their actions during dinner. I also really liked how these photographs aren't high quality images it makes it more interesting to look at.

I couldn't find any images to attach so I just put the link to her website
